Stage program
Guess what? We actually have two stages to make sure that everyone can find something that they will love to sing along to, and maybe even have a little spin around.
This year, the new and improved Market (Main) Stage is back in its traditional location, just next to Swanston Street. From 10.00am, the Market (Main) Stage will be filled with children singing, toe-tapping music and, as always, family friendly Pole dancing!
From 10.30am, Deakin Edge will start enchanting you with a musical cocktail, from a special musical performance for children of the legend of Toruńskie Pierniki (Torun Gingerbread), to the songs of famed composer Ignacy Paderewski performed by the Art of Sound Orchestra, to traditional Polish folk songs.
KidStop
Make sure you get the kids to KIDSTOP on Sunday, where they can make their own wianki (wreaths), bombki (Christmas baubles) or even become Smok Wawelski (the Wawel Dragon).
FolkStop
Don’t worry, the kids won’t be having all the fun! FOLKSTOP this year has some incredibly talented craftsmen/women, each showcasing a traditional Polish craft. Come along and learn how to make wycinanki (paper cut-outs), or the unique crafts that go with each special occasion in Poland (for example, dyed and painted eggs for Easter). If you don’t feel confident in trying your hand at these techniques, just come along and watch the masters at work!
Quick checklist for the Festival
Make sure to check out the 2018 Festival Guide, which is now available online, so that you can plan your whole day and figure out:
- What am I going to eat?
- What am I going to buy?
- What am I going to watch?
What to bring on the day: all your family and friends, spare cash, an empty stomach and a smile!
CAN’T WAIT TO SEE YOU THERE!
You don’t need an invitation (but if you did, consider this it!). As far as we are concerned, you are virtually family, so bring lots of friends and extend our family.
A special thanks to our Festival partners for their generous support and all the amazing people who make it happen.
See you at the Festival – do zobaczenia na Festiwalu!
